Pets

Whether they live in our homes or in the wild, Subaru is committed to keeping all animals safe and healthy.

A partner since 2008, Subaru has donated over $28 million to the ASPCA and through Subaru Loves Pets has helped support the rescue, transport, adoption and well-being of over 230,000 animals across the country.

Environment

Loving the environment means more than loving the great outdoors. It means working to preserve it.

Since 2018, Subaru has partnered with TerraCycle.  Participating Subaru retailers collect hard-to-recycle trash that was headed to local landfills. We collect approximately 2 tons of this hard-to-recycle trash monthly, which will be converted to furnishings and other usable items and donated locally.

Education

It’s our goal to make the pursuit of knowledge available to as many minds as possible.

Since 2015 Subaru, in partnership with the American Association for the Advancement Science, donated over 277,600 award-winning science books.  In addition, through our partnerships with Staples and Adoptaclassroom.org we supported teachers and students with donations of S400,000 in gift cards and school supplies.

Community

In a perfect world, hunger would be history and hope would be commonplace. We believe a perfect world is possible.

In 2020, Subaru and its retailers made a donation to Feeding America to provide 50 million meals to help feed people in need during the COVID-19 crisis,* making meals available at 199 local food banks across the country.
*$1 helps provide at least 10 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.

Health

We should all have a chance to lead a healthy life. We’re aiming to give as many people that chance as we can.

Since 2016, Subaru and its retailers have partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to donate over 167,000 blankets and 21,500 arts & crafts kits and reached nearly 150,000 patients in more than 780 hospitals nationwide.

Hadwin-White Subaru Helps Wishes Come True!  –  Karen L

Make-A-Wish® South Carolina creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are beyond grateful for the giving spirit of Hadwin-White Subaru and its customers during the 2019 Subaru Share the Love event! Over the past three years, Hadwin-White Subaru has raised over $21,000 for our wish-granting program through the Share the Love event. These funds will help grant wishes for some of the 390 children across South Carolina who are currently waiting for their wish to come true. Wishes bring kids renewed hope and hope is essential when battling a critical illness. With a wish on the horizon, the exciting anticipation of a wish-come-true helps them believe in better days ahead. Wishes also strengthen family bonds, provide much-needed escapes from medical worries, and an opportunity to simply feel normal again. Wishes change the lives of everyone they touch and we are so thankful that Hadwin-White continues to share in that experience! Right now, in this world of uncertainty where many wishes have been put on hold, the team at Hadwin-White has been a star for wish kids - dedicated to bringing renewed strength and joy to children, families and communities who need it most. We are thankful for community partners like Hadwin-White Subaru for making wishes come true for local kids like Evie, who wished to go to the San Diego Zoo to see real pandas. Chase Hadwin from Hadwin-White Subaru join Kalaila in the delivery, as a childhood cancer survivor himself, he and Kalaila made a great team! Such a special moment as the children and parents learned more about not only Subaru and LLS delivering warmth and hope but more importantly that as they sat their with their son or daughter going through treatment that two success stories stood in front of them providing encouragement and hope! Each interaction with the children visited was so special, one little boy undergoing leukemia treatment immediately wanted to cuddle up with his blanket and another sweet little girl Victoria loved her brightly colored Message of Hope! Thank you to Subaru for helping to support the patients and give them a moment to focus on something a little more lighthearted while receiving treatment! LLS is so thankful for the partnership with Subaru! Together #somedayistoday!

Hadwin-White Subaru provides Warmth and Comfort!  –  Crystal F

Our local Honored Hero Rachel Darling assisted two weeks ago in the delivery of Subaru Loves to Care blankets to the adults receiving cancer treatments at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center. She had decided that the adults deserved some love and support, she was concerned that the children receiving treatment receive more attention and she wanted to share some of her spirit and joy with the adults as well! Well yesterday the Subaru Loves to Care program came full circle, as we receive blankets from another SC Subaru dealer, Hadwin-White Subaru and these blankets were delivered to the 7B unit at MUSC Children's Hospital where children are receiving inpatient cancer treatments. Rachel is receiving treatment there currently and yesterday we were able to present Rachel with her own blanket to help keep her warm and provide comfort over these next 5 days in the hospital. She was over the moon and couldn't stop talking about how warm and soft it was. Catherine Mattox, Social Worker for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at MUSC said, "The blankets went into immediate good use. Everyone is nice and snuggled up today!" Thank you Hadwin-White Subaru!

The GSHS is committed to the care and humane treatment of all homeless and abandoned animals. They do not euthanize healthy, adoptable animals. They are also committed to finding caring and loving homes for their animals. In addition they work to educate our community about responsible pet ownership and to investigate and attempt to prevent cruelty to all animals. They strive to provide cost-effective adoption rates as well as spay/neutering and preventative healthcare services. Donations are so important to assist the GSHS with all that they do to help animals in our community and Hadwin-White was honored to sponsor a Subaru Share The Love "Santa Paws" event on December 22, 2014. Santa was on hand to take photos with our guests' pets or children and pups from the GSHS were on hand to greet everyone and make connections that could lead to a loving home. In addition to the contribution from Subaru, Hadwin-White also selected GSHS as our December charity for our Hadwin-White Cares Campaign and $1,000 was donated and awareness promos for GSHS were aired in December. Hadwin-White looks forward to continuing our partnership with GSHS for many years to come!
